ASP.Net GridView RowEditing event makes GridView disappear

This is very strange behaviour, I cannot see why. Basically, I have a gridview and it has RowEditing function, which to be fair has two lines of code

        GridView1.EditIndex = e.NewEditIndex;
        GridView1.DataBind();

When I press the edit button from one of the row in gridview, it hides the whole gridview!

To bring it back, I have to call the function which does the binding and suprisingly, it loads back in edit mode!

N e idea?
