Fire Dropdownlist In Gridview Row When Edit Button Is Clicked

Hi,

I have a dropdownlist in gridview edit row. The dropdownlist only works when i select any item which ofcourse is the normal behaviour but my requirement is for it to fire with the current value and behaviour once i click edit button.

it should act as if it's a new selection but it should retain current value.

I don't know if i should call it reload or refresh

Below is the dropdown code:

Please explain with an example and send RowDataBound code, and let me know where is your lblPONumber that you are trying to find.

Thank you @Shashikant and Dharmendr for your help.

I have dropdownlist that holds Tax name(example VAT 10%). VAT is the Tax name while 10 is the Rate without percentage(%) sign.

My requirement is this, I want when edit button is clicked 10 from Tax name should go to hidden field(hdfTaxName)

Here is my RowDataBound

I think you should ignore lblPONumber. it is for search textbox. it passes number from gridview row to search textbox when clicked

Here i have created sample as per your requirement. You need to change the code as per your requirement. Here i have used a label msg to show you the value is assigned to the hidden field.
