Browser Compatibility Issues in IE11

Hello,

          My application current framework is 4.0 and its having browser compatibility issues in IE11 . Part of the Requirement, I need to resolve the browser issues as well as change the Framework to 4.5. Which one I should start first and how can I resolve the browser compatibility issues in IE11.
