currently its excatly the opposite i have

on grid header click javascript is initated , the header name stored in hiden field in script

then the hidden field value checked with database value from code beehind

&  then depending on the values controls will be visible true/ false

So in that case you can make an AJAX call and get the value true or false in return and then hide show controls using javascript

i tried i new page

but still not able to track any code or anything thats interfering

with IE as till now the things were working with IE & not FF

i tried but without alert its not working  in IE

and even the debugger is not working for tracking

  checking & then back to client reading values at client

Not its not feasible. Since with updatepanel it will reload all controls again and will be slower compared to what I suggested using AJAX

instead of using webservice culd it be used in mornal .aspx.cs page

as currently all my coding is in .aspx.cs page
