How to save Html TextBox data into Text file and save in project folder using C# in ASP.Net MVC

Refer the below code and check.

public FileStreamResult CreateFile(string text) {
    var byteArray = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(text);
    var stream = new MemoryStream(byteArray);
    return File(stream, "text/plain", "Test.txt");   
}

Then you can create an ActionLink to that action on your View which will trigger file download.

@Html.ActionLink("Download File", "CreateFile", "SomeController ")

Or

public ActionResult Download(string text)
{
    byte[] data = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(text);
    return File(data, "text/plain", "Test.txt");
}

In your view provide a link to this action.

@Html.ActionLink("Downoad File", "Download")

thank u so much dharmendr...bt prompt should not be displayed to the user for download .and the  user should fill the textarea which it should save on the server ..

}

[HttpPost]
public ActionResult Index(string text)
{
    string path = Server.MapPath("~/Files/test.txt");
    using (StreamWriter sw = System.IO.File.CreateText(path))
    {
        sw.WriteLine(text);
    }
    return View();
}

Which will ctreate a txt file with the name test inside project Files folder with the TextBox value.
