How to clear Canvas Signature on click of button using jQuery in ASP.Net

I want clear the signature with the clear button and redraw it again.

I have tried this code 

var canvas = document.getElementById('PrincipalSignature_sketch');
var context = canvas.getContext('2d');
context.clearRect(0, 0, canvas.width, canvas.height);
context.beginPath();

It worked fine. but when you try to redraw it again it shows the pervious signature which i have cleared.

I think it is not clearing completely.
