How to make a column Invisible in ASP.Net GridView control

To hide the Id Column you can write this code

gridview.Columns[0].Visible = false;

in the above code you will have you enter your column index

foreg: If you Id column is the first column in the gridview than you will have you write Columns[0] and if it is second column than you will have to write Columns[1] .

 <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="ID"  Visible="False">
                             <ItemTemplate>
                                    <%# Container.DataItemIndex + 1 %>
                              </ItemTemplate>
                </asp:TemplateField>

 Try visible ="False" in template field of that column

If its working than fine or else write this code where you populate the gridview

I did this...But I set the visible property false then in RowCommand it unable to find the 0th columns value.

So do one thing you don't set the visible property during design time but set it while populating the data in the grid view
