Whenever I add a DropDownList to a FormView, the FormView will no longer enter EditMode. For example, when I change rdDir from a TextBox to a DropDownList:
This works just fine:
<asp:TextBox Text='<%# Bind("rdDir") %>' runat="server" ID="rdDirTextBox" />
This stops the FormView from entering edit mode:
<asp:DropDownList Text='<%# Bind("rdDir") %>' runat="server" ID="rdDirTextBox" DataSourceID="sdsRdDirs" DataTextField="rdDir" DataValueField="rdDirIdPk" AppendDataBoundItems="true"><asp:ListItem Value="">--Please Select--</asp:ListItem></asp:DropDownList>
The update parameter for rdDir inside the SqlDataSource is
<asp:Parameter Name="rdDir" Type="Int32"></asp:Parameter>
Here is the SqlDataSource I'm using to populate the dropdownlist:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="sdsRdDirs" runat="server" ConnectionString='<%$ ConnectionStrings:DefaultConnection %>' SelectCommand="SELECT [rdDirIdPk], [rdDir] FROM [rdDirs]"></asp:SqlDataSource>.
I tested sdsRdDirs on a dropdownlist outside of the formview to ensure it works properly, and it does.
What other things could be causing this issue?
