Apply DISTINCT on multiple columns in SELECT SQL Server query

i have a table named Master_station and columns like ID,District.

now i need to select the id and DISTINCT district from master_station tabele.DISTINCt is

not working properly.

here is my QUERY:

"Select distinct District,ID from master_station"

0 7

ya i have solved with

select District, min(Id) as ID from Master_Station group by District
