Why do we need Forms Authentication in ASP.Net

Question

Hi sirMy question is why do we need forms authentication  instead of being use by just checking user name and password whats make the difference as we read forms authentication is very important please let me know as more and more details about it with example if possible  Thanks SirHarry virk

FormsAuthetication is good in many ways1 It can be integrated with ASPNet Membership and Profile which hs all the database security and roles functionality2 It creates a ticket ie a Cookie and we can have a remember me checkbox and which when checked the cookie will be saved and next time user can come without loginImplement Remember Me functionality using CheckBox ASPNet
