Call WebMethod from using JavaScript or jQuery without using AJAX in ASP.Net

hello

i want to make a web method in asmx file to retrive a data of country and show it into html select  from a sql server table country.without ajax (no ajax update panel and ajax cascading required) and also page cannot refresh.

please help me out. im new in this field
