hii,

i have a issue, i.e. my form is having a label and a button, assume that you opened my website in ur system through url and now when u click the button it has to read a text file from the specified path in ur machine and display the data in label. i mean whatever machine is running my program it has to read the data from specific path from current running client machine.

can any one help me

This is not possible in a Web Application. Web Application runs in a browser which is another application with limited access

Hence it cannot access any local resources

is it possible using activex control ..? if yes tell me the procedure how to create it and using the activex control in my project.

Yes it is possible with ActiveX control but that works only in IE and that too has to be installed on User's machine which also requires his permission and user has to be Admin.

So it is not an optimal solution
